Well done Year 13
St Katherine's students celebrated receiving some fantastic results for both A Levels and vocational qualifications in August 2023. Our year 13 students are now moving onto a range of high quality destinations. 80% of the cohort applied to university, 89% confirmed offers from either their first or insurance choices. 20% of students who applied for Higher Education will be attending prestigious Russell Group universities this September, including University of Sheffield, University of Liverpool and Cardiff University. We are also hugely excited to be sending a student to the world-renowned London College of Fashion. Of students progressing to HE, 40% are the first generation of their family to attend university.

Justin Humphreys, Headteacher, said:
"Another great set of outcomes for our students at St Katherine’s across both our academic and vocational pathways. Great progress has been made by the students with so many individual success stories. Students deserve this personal success, reflecting their dedication and we celebrate this success together. Teachers are rightly proud of the achievements within their classes.
Let us all remind ourselves our students are much more than a grade. They are all exceptional, inspiring, and talented young people and we couldn’t be prouder of each one of our students. A sincere thank you to the teaching staff and colleagues at St Katherine’s for their professionalism and compassion in tirelessly working in the best interests of our students."
Geraint Davies, St Katherine's Head of Sixth Form, added:
"It is difficult to express the pride felt on a day like this. Given the remarkable and hugely disrupted journey these students have faced over the last three years, it is testament to this cohort's character and resilience that they have even made it through to opening their results today.
We had been warned to prepare for some disappointments, and there is no doubt that this has been the case for some results today. However, we can reflect on plenty of success stories, and take particular pleasure in reflecting on the range of destinations our students now embark on.
80% of our students have chosen to progress to university, of whom 40% are the first generation of their family to do so, and 20% will be attending prestigious Russell Group institutions. Despite the concerns, 89% of students will be attending either their first or insurance choice universities.
Students also now progress onto further education colleges, a selection of apprenticeships, and the world of work.
We wish them all the best and thank them for all they have given us during our time here. We are so proud of you all, and we’ll miss you very much."
