St Katherine's singers debut in Bristol Cathedral
A group of St Katherine’s students joined pupils from all the Cathedral Schools Trust (CST) schools in a fantastic concert at the beautiful Bristol Cathedral on 21st March.
Our Year 7 choir sang 'Wonderwall' by Noel Gallagher and did a wonderful job with their enthusiastic and controlled singing. It was a real pleasure to watch their faces light up as they sang to a packed cathedral.
Students in the Year 7 choir were: Eleanor Baker, Erin Barnett, Alice Brochot-Sharpe, Sayen Cid-Purslow, Joseph Crawford, Sophie de Wet, Jemima Douglas, Emily Earle, Ruby Forder, Sophia Harper, Sophie Hicks, Toula Hudson, Victoria Karczewska, Hannah Lange, Abi Lebo, Gabriella Marcovitch,
Sienna Mcleary, Jessica Porter, Hope Roberts, Tannaz Saljughi, Keeley Semple, Abigail Smallwood, Leah Wardingley and Sam Wright.

We were then treated to a fabulous solo vocal performance by Stephanie Thomasset accompanied on piano by William Want. The Year 11 students performed 'Still Hurting' from the musical 'The Last Five Years' by Jason Robert Brown. It was a truly stunning performance of a complex piece of music which sounded fantastic in the wonderful acoustic of the cathedral.
Students from across CST then joined together for the finale, a gospel song called 'Oh Give Thanks', led by the Bristol Cathedral Choir School gospel choir.
It was an uplifting end to a wonderful evening of music. The St Katherine’s students represented our school extremely well and I received lots of lovely comments about their performances and their fabulous behaviour throughout the day.
Very well done to all and we look forward to more great collaborations and opportunities for students across the CST schools family.
