Netball Superleague Trip
End of season rewards trip to watch title hopefuls Surrey Storm and Team Bath
With the KS4 netball season coming to an end and the KS3 season finishing at Christmas, it was only fitting that those girls who had trained and played as part of their year group teams and represented the school in local fixtures and tournaments, be rewarded in an opportunity to watch top level netball.
The local team, Team Bath have always been successful in this league, winning it consecutively for many years between 2010 and 2014, however in recent years other teams have started to dominate the league and find themselves at the top of the table, with Surrey Storm being the current champions.
Surrey Storm had also made a new signing of Megan Craig, a giant Kiwi international whose height and reach ended up being a game changer for the Surrey side.
Both teams fielded a number of international players who had received caps either at U18 or full honours for England, and the game was past paced from the start. Both teams had periods of domination and managed a flurry of goals whilst forcing mistakes from the opposition side. Surrey Storm began well and pulled out an immediate lead against Team Bath and despite attempts from the Bath side to close the gap; the score line always remained in Surrey’s favour.
