Happy Birthday Malala Yousafzai!

12th July 2021 is Malala Yousafzai's 24th birthday. Students in Yousafzai House have taken part in competitions to help celebrate. Naomi Burr, 8Y2, won the birthday cake competition and Leah Wardingley, 9Y, won for her birthday card design.

Yousafzai students created a video recreating Malala's life story which was shown to the rest of the school during tutor time. Students from across the house also explained how Malala has inspired them and what it means to them to be in Yousafzai House. The video was followed by a live quiz (including a Malala round!) which had been put together by Yousafzai students. Tutor time was finished off by Miss Andrews, Head of Yousafzai House, leading the whole school in the singing of Happy Birthday!

Each tutor group in Yousafzai have sent birthday cards to Malala, including messages thanking her for all she has done and how she has inspired them. Happy Birthday Malala!
