Congratulations Year 13
St Katherine's students have been celebrating receiving some fantastic results! At A Level 31% of grades achieved were A*-A, with 49% at A*-B and 68% at A*-C. The vocational qualifications results were similarly impressive with 54% awarded at D*-D and an overall pass rate of 100%.
In securing these results, our year 13 students will move onto a range of high quality destinations. 70% of the cohort applied to university, all of whom hold offers. Of these students, 90% have offers from their first choice university. 24% of students who applied for Higher Education will be attending prestigious Russell Group universities this September, including University of Manchester, University of Edinburgh, Cardiff University and Queen Mary University of London. 53% of these students are the first generation of their family to attend university.
Other students in the year group are taking up apprenticeships (BT, Bristol Docks, Barber), going on to Further Education colleges or have secured an employment pathway.
A number of students deserve particular recognition for achieving the highest grades:

Justin Humphreys, Headteacher, said:
"Another great set of outcomes for our students at St Katherine’s across both our academic and vocational pathways. Great progress has been made by the students with so many individual success stories. Students deserve this personal success, reflecting their dedication and we celebrate this success together. Teachers are rightly proud of the achievements within their classes.
The resilience students have shown under such conditions is remarkable. They are all exceptional, inspiring, and talented young people and we couldn’t be prouder of each one of our students. A sincere thank you to the teaching staff and colleagues at St Katherine’s for their professionalism and compassion in tirelessly working in the best interests of our students."
Geraint Davies, St Katherine's Head of Sixth Form, added:
"It's impossible to express the overwhelming sense of pride I feel for this group of students. Given the remarkable journey they have been on over the last three years, it is testament to this cohort's character and resilience that they have even made it through to opening their results today.
While there are inevitably some disappointments, we are thrilled that so many of our students have excelled, with over 30% of A-Level grades at A*-A, and over 50% of vocational grades at Distinction*-Distinction. Even more satisfying than the grades themselves are the array of destinations these young people now embark upon, from elite Russell Group Universities, to creative colleges, to many taking up apprenticeships or entering the world of work. We thank all these students for their strength, their endless good humour, and for being such a vital part of the school community during their time at St Katherine's."
